The Passing of Connie Bretscher

It saddens me to inform you of the passing of Connie Bretscher, our oldest alumna, who left us peacefully on Sunday, January 19 at the remarkable age of 104. Connie was a beloved member of the Valparaiso University family, having graduated in 1942 with a bachelor’s degree in music and later earning her master’s degree in education in 1971. She remained a dedicated alumna and pillar of the campus community until her final days.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 noon on February 15, 2025, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1700 Monticello Park Dr., Valparaiso, IN 46383.  A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, and a luncheon will follow the service.
